Planning and Building a Community Hospital
Hub North Scotland commissioned Nevis Environmental to handle the ecological planning conditions on the site. Works included the preparation of a reptile receptor site for Common Lizards Zootoca vivipara following a Species Protection Plan (SPP), as well as providing ECoW (Ecological Clerk of Works) services on site, working closely with Principal Contractors Balfour Beatty.
In July 2019 the project was handed over to Balfour Beatty to commence construction work on this new facility. Nevis Environmental have carried out surveys throughout the pre-construction and construction phases of the project, as well as developing the translocation site and mitigation measures. Ecological surveys will continue to be carried out even once the facility is operational, to ensure the reptile receptor area is correctly managed.
