Consents Management for new Fish Processing Facility to deliver Planning, EIA and Marine Works Licenses
Nevis were appointed as part of a project team to deliver a new fish processing facility on the Isle of Skye, with responsibility to lead and manage the Town Planning, EIA and Marine Works Licensing consents processes. This challenging project is located on steep sloping ground, requiring extensive earthworks as well as sea reclamation. A single EIA approach was agreed, to cover the both the terrestrial planning and marine licensing regimes. Nevis procured technical expertise to undertake marine ecology work and underwater noise impact surveys. Preliminary site investigation work and marine core sampling works were agreed with Marine Scotland LOT in discussion with NatureScot.
In addition to procuring and managing third party consultancy inputs to key areas, Nevis were appointed to undertake an initial Phase 1 Habitat Survey to determine additional baseline survey requirements to support the EIA and planning application. Following the original Phase 1 Survey, Nevis completed the required detailed species-specific site survey work. This informed the EIA Scoping Report and provided the terrestrial biodiversity chapter for the EIA Report. The project was taken to EIA Scoping stage and is currently on hold.
