A busy spring on all fronts for the Nevis team in what has been a very successful start to 2019.
With a team of surveyors out and about across Scotland and the North of England experiencing some of the best wildlife (and weather) the UK has to offer, Nevis are very fortunate to be an integral cog in the decarbonise revolution.
The vital part that renewables play in the future of Scotland was also echoed at the 10th annual Scottish Highland Renewable Energy Conference (SHREC). Held on the 25th April, over 150 delegates, including members of the Nevis team, were treated to a day of inspiring and thought provoking discussions from some of Scotland’s most celebrated experts in the renewables sector. David Bone, Head of Energy & Natural Resources at conference organiser Harper Macleod opened with a look back at the 1st ever SHREC conference, the progress that has been made and introduced speakers who looked to the future of energy in Scotland and the UK as a whole.
All in all it was an insightful day with the overall message summed up perfectly by Elaine Hanton, Head of Energy Technologies at Highlands and Islands Enterprise: “There has been massive progress across technologies, across the supply chain and the infrastructure and investment over the years. This is time of rapid change as part of a longer term transition in our whole energy sector and we believe that the Highlands and Islands has led the way over the past 10 years and will continue to do so.”
Nevis were delighted to continue their involvement in the sector with the attendance at the Highland and Island Renewable Energy Awards organised by SPP Media and headline sponsors Harper Macleod. We were also thrilled to be the sponsor of the Best Smart Energy/Carbon Reduction Project which was won by a very well deserving ALIenergy (Argyll, Lomond and the Islands Energy Agency). Nevis Director Lee Quinn was on hand to present the award to the fantastic ALIenergy team.
Nevis now look ahead to the 19th All-Energy, the UK’s largest renewable and low carbon energy exhibition and conference, and the inaugural co-located Dcarbonise, focusing on energy efficiency and low carbon heat and transport. As a continued supporter of All-Energy over the years, Nevis are delighted once again to be part of the All Energy HIE pavilion on stand HIE30. We are looking forward to another productive event and meeting up with clients new and old, as well as enjoying the range of conferences and speakers throughout the event.
